Hi! I go by kala Asi, or Aci, short for AcipenserSturio. The name is binomial nomenclature for the European sea sturgeon, hence the “fishy” identity.
I am most active in Toki Pona communities. I started learning Toki Pona in 2019, and have since then started or contributed to various projects for Toki Pona infrastructure and community engagement.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics (currently doing a master’s program). I do open source software development as a hobby. Hoping to get a CS job one day.
Toki Pona projects I’m involved with
- 2020–: performing yearly surveys about the use of Toki Pona.
- 2020–: playing on musi Manka, the Minecraft server.
- 2021–: writing songs in Toki Pona, mostly translations.
- 2021–: making video essays for suno pi toki pona.
- 2021–: started kulupu Linku, a Toki Pona dictionary and font infrastructure project.
- 2021–2023: moderator on ma pona, mostly did channel layout and bot stuff.
- 2024–: started poki Lapo, a Toki Pona library.
- 2024–: event organiser for suno pi toki pona, the yearly Toki Pona celebration.
- 2024–: started ma.pona.la, a pin map of tokiponists.
- 2025–: member of the Sitelen Pona Publishers and Typographers Association.
- 2025–: started sin kulupu, a Toki Pona newsletter.
- 2025–: working on a Toki Pona course.
